Springtime selling

March 18, 2013 in Uncategorized

My itch to sell out doors is getting harder to ignore. With spring here in officially les than ten days, yes I said less than….eek. The feeling of cranking those windows open & embracing the crisp breeze is oh so close. So what does that mean for a handcrafted selling gal like me?

This weather is prime time to reach a whole new market of clients. The local, festival, exploring, fried dough kind of goers. It means getting those vendor applications in and setting foot into the creative zone. This year my focus is revamping the booth from just two tables of mechandise to a traveling closet. Set right in to your (insert dreambubble) motherload of a picture perfect grandmothers attic full of pristine rocking vintage goodies. Phew that was a mouthfull! I will be posting photos of my display finds and works in progress for the next two months. Check back or head out at our next festival presence!

Celebrate with Color

February 2, 2013 in Beauty Boost

Hello Mr.Groundhog,
While our infamous groundhog peeked out of his hole today his shadow did not. How many years has it been since that has happened? Well what this means is an early spring. With the feeling of bundling up on its way out in the next few weeks, spring dress up crosses my mind. Say avoir to chilly brisk nights & hello to lighter layers. What colors, fabrics and fashions will inspire me this year? Bright colors was last years must! Running with my skin itching to be free from this winters boots and wool sweaters, I can’t quite ditch them yet so I will celebrate with makeup!
Feeling the color buzz & dire need for sunshine, I am celebrating the groundhogs early spring with the color Coral. I know it is a bit early for coral, but what they hey I couldn’t resist this amazing accessory.
My newly found fashion dare is in a little black tube, Tom Ford’s Private Stock Lipstick. Tom Ford ya say? Why yes, while my Tom Ford luxury line ownership is set aside for the day I strike oil. His makeup line is the closest I can get to Mr.Ford’s line.

Say hello lover…..

This is what they mean by beauty in a tube. Costing a whopping….(“wait for it, bite my lip, jaw dropping”) $49 this lipstick is instant sex appeal.

Putting on this beauty for this first time, I felt like a five year old girl sneaking her moms makeup. I look around with a bashful essence of fright in getting caught as I lined my lips with the vanilla scented Truly Coral color. I fear this purchase is going to be a pricy mistake, only to look up & realize this is the best beauty purchase I’ve ever made.

Cleaning Fever

February 2, 2013 in creative space

With the winter months keeping us in & brewing up the cabin fever. Tiane Novati spent the first month of 2013 purging & cleansing, the studio space that is. When cleaning out your creative space, make sure you pick the right time in which your mood allows you to let go of materials that you truly have no use for. Leaving a muck of unnecessary tid bits clusters your creative space. Having a creative space that flows with ease allows the creative juices to do the same.
Being an artist there is a multitude of elements that you need to properly bring your vision to life. No matter the media type your supplies can have a great range. With that comes messes. When a creative storm hit you become sucked up in a creative loop allowing your surroundings to be your playground. Leaving behind no regard for the tornado effect left behind. Any who being an artist can be messy and these chilly months are best to prep before your normal Spring cleaning to allow your new creations to bud. Just a little reminder from one artist to another your not alone when your creative place becomes lost in space.

Just a few spaces in my studio that built up some clutter thought the Holiday producing months & now has a fresh face. Good luck to you my fellow mess makers ;) .
